GOVERNOR Abdullahi Sule of Nasssrawa State has commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria for its contributions to humanity through education, healthcare and peaceful propagation of Islam.
The governor gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to his office in Lafia by a delegation of the Muslim organisation led by the Amir, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Alatoye.
Aside from the Ahmadiyya Muslim secondary schools located in Onda and Umaisha in Nassarawa State, the governor expressed excitement about the proposed Minaret International University project on going in Ikirun, Osun State.
A statement by the Media Lead, Ahmadiyya Muslim Ja-ma’at Nigeria, Dr Qasim Akinreti, the amir congratulated Governor Sule on his re-election and subsequent triumph at the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Alhaji Alatoye praised the governor for his activities in support of Islam and the Ahmadiyya jama’at.
He described Islam as a religion of peace, saying it prohibits all forms of violence and encourages peaceful co-existence.
The Ahmadiyya leader condemned all forms of killing in the name of religion and noted that those who do this do not represent Islamic values.
Alatoye, who said that the establishment of schools by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Ja-ma’at across the country was a testament to the commitment of the organisation to education, informed Governor Sule that Minaret International University, Ikirun, would be opened for academic activities soon.
The amir invited the governor as special guest of honour to the 70th Jalsa Salana Islamic conference) of the organisation which would hold in December in laro, Ogun State.
He also invited him to the Majlis Khudammul Ahmadiyya Nigeria ljtema and Majlis Ansarullah Nigeria Ijtema which would hold in Abuja in April and September.
Governor Sule expressed appreciation for the visit of the leadership of the jama’at and commended the organisation for its service to Islam and humanity.
The governor promised to be available for some of the programmes he was invited to by the amir.
Alatoye was accompanied on the visitation to the governor by the Missionary in Charge, Maulvi Adnan Tahir;
Naibeen Amir, Finance and Administration, Alhaji Mufad-hil Bankole; Naib Amir, Tabligh and Tajneed, Dr Abdul Lateef Busari; the Abuja Circuit Pres-ident, Alhaji Ahmed Sanusi; the Central Missionary, Abuja, Maulvi Nasir Mahmud; Central Missionary, Nasarawa, Maulvi Abdus Salam Olayinka; a member of the Abuja jama’at, Al-Haafidh Sulayman Kuku and other respected members of the jama’at.
