A security organisation, National and International Relations Rescue Marshal (NIRRM),established to rid communities off crime has been inaugurated in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Speaking during the inauguration held at Alaafia Oluwa community hall, Airport Road in Egbeda Local Government Area of the state, founder and Commandant-General of the group, Dr Temitope Aliu, represented by the Deputy Commandant-GeneralZone 5, Gabriel Ogunjobi, disclosed that the security outfit had been in existence since 2003 and was launched in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Ogunjobi said the mission and vision of the organisation is to assist conventional security agents in combating crimes and criminal activities in the society.
He also advised the newly-inaugurated cadet officers to be up and doing in their assignment.
Ogunjobi further noted that the Zone 5 under his control is spread across the 36 states of the federation, adding that the body of Rescue Marshal is divided into six units while each unit is headed by Deputy Commandant-General (DCG).
“I am mandated to have Rescue Marshal across the 36 states and personnel in Zone 5 are those using red cap which differentiates them from other personnel of Rescue Marshal Corps,” he said.
Ogunjobi further said their call to duty does not give them liberty to maltreat any community member, adding that anyone caught perpetrating crime would be handed over to the police at the nearest station.
“As member of this security outfit, we want you to comport yourself in a manner that everybody in the community will accord you due respect. You should be disciplined, obedient, loyal and contented.
“You must be cautious in whatever you do, especially your relationship with members of the community. Don’t allow yourself to be used by land grabbers or be lured into any criminal activities. Your major duty is to always ensure peace among members of the community,” Ogunjobi said.

Dignitaries at the event were representatives of the police, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Police Community Relations Commission (PCRC),Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), among others.
