No fewer than 828 less privileged students have received free Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) pins in Gwaram local government area in Jigawa State to write the forthcoming 2025 examination.
This was contained in a statement issued, signed, and made available to Tribune Online in Dutse, Jigawa state capital, by the special assistant to the local council chairman on media, Mr Abubakar Bello Baba. Professor Salim Abdurraman, while speaking to Tribune Online, said, “The executive chairman of Gwaram local council has sponsored 828 less privileged indigent candidates of the area to write the forthcoming 2025 examination.”
According to the statement, “This gesture is aimed at supporting students who cannot afford the registration fee, thereby giving them an equal opportunity to pursue their academic dreams”.
“This is in continuation of the present executive local government council chairman, Professor Salim Abdurraman’s efforts to support and complement Governor Malam Umar Namadi in achieving his 12-point agenda.”
The special assistant noted that “The sponsored JAMB pins have since been sent to the beneficiaries’ mobile phone numbers to commence their registration process in good time.”
The statement advised the beneficiaries to be cautious with their mobile phones and keep the messages received for the purposes of all processes and procedures.
Mr Bello Baba asked any beneficiary who hasn’t received their pin to contact the guidance and counselling unit of the local council to resolve the issue.
“The Chairman’s office is committed to ensuring that all eligible students receive their sponsored JAMB pins and complete their registration successfully.”
