73-yr-old man arrested for allegedly defiling 3-yr-old child in Nasarawa

A 73-year-old man, Ali Isah, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly defiling a three-year-old child in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Parading the suspect in Lafia, the state commandant of the NSCDC, Mohammad Mahmoud Fari, told journalists that the suspect had confessed to carrying out the crime.

Fari said the victim is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Karu Local Government Area of the state.

He, however, said arrangement had been made to take the suspect to court.

While speaking with journalists, the suspect, Isah, who claimed to have two wives with 11 children, confessed to the crime.

The 73-year-old, however, pleaded for forgiveness.

He said: “I didn’t know what came over me to have done this; I am only seeking God’s mercy and I hope the relevant authorities can forgive me of the crime I have committed.”
