The 70-year-old monarch who stated that the appeal had become imperative following the monumental loss suffered as a result of the incident noted that apart from razing the entire building, the fire also destroyed property worth a million naira.

Chief Alibi who could not as at press time ascertain the cause of the fire, stated that the inferno came to him and the entire household as a surprise.

He however thanked God that none of his family members died in the fire.

At the moment, Chief Alibi and his family are being accommodated by one of his neighbours.
