No fewer than about Seven Women made it to the list of 30 Commissioners nominees forwarded by the Niger state Governor Honourable Muhammad Umaru Bago to the State House of Assembly for consideration on Thursday in Minna during the plenary session by the assembly.
The women include a one time Commissioner for Women’s Affairs in the state, Hon. Elizabeth Shaba, Dr. Hadiza Asebe Mohammed, Honourable . Binta Mamman, an immediate past member of the state house of assembly from Gurara Constituency.
Others include Hajiya Titi Auta, Mrs Fatima Adamu, Hajiya Hadiza Idris Kuta as well as Mrs. Maurice Magaji.
This was contained in a letter sent to the assembly from Governor Bago and read by the House Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkindaji during an emergency Plenary session, requesting for consideration of the nominees.
The Speaker further presented another request from the Governor seeking the House’s approval to appoint additional 10 Special Advisers for him .
It would however be recalled that the House had earlier approved a request by Governor Umaru Bago for the appointment of 20 Special Advisers.
