A 60-year-old man, Ajayi Femi, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly drugging and raping a 24-year-old woman.
The suspect was arraigned in court on Monday and remanded in a correctional centre.
In a statement released Monday, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest.

“The Lagos State Police Command, Gender Unit, has charged to court one Ajayi Femi, m, aged 60, over the rape of a female victim, aged 24,” Hundeyin stated.
According to the police, the victim’s sister reported the incident at Meiran Police Station on August 22, 2025, after which the case was transferred to the Gender Unit for investigation.
“Further investigation, including medical tests, revealed that on the same day, the suspect spiked the survivor’s drink, rendering her unconscious before having unlawful sexual intercourse with her without her consent,” the statement read.
Hundeyin added, “The suspect also made a confessional statement to that effect.”
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, assured the public of the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring justice for survivors of sexual offences.
He further encouraged citizens to report all such cases to the Family Support Units across the state for prompt action.
