FIVE hundred households across Oyo state have benefitted from Ramadan 1445 A.H/2024 Mega Palliative sponsored by AbdulHakeem As-Shiar Centre, Omi-Adio, Ibadan.
The programme organised by the Islamic Enlightenment Foundation, Oyo state through Kuwait Horizons Charity Society was held at the Arabian College and Usulud-Deen Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Omi-Adio, Ibadan.
The Coordinator of the project and the Proprietor of the Arabian College, Dr Muhammed-Lawal Musa Alongbija explained that the palliative was to bring succour to people, especially the needy and the underprivileged during this holy month.
According to him, the sponsor, AbdulHakeem As-Shiar initiated the palliative distribution to seek the pleasure of Allah for more bounties in this world and the hereafter, urging well meaning Nigerians to emulate such gesture to put smile on the faces of people in the society.
“I can see the joy in the facial expressions of the beneficiaries, and I believe that is the motive behind the sponsorship”. He said.
Dr Alongbija, who reiterated that the Islamic Enlightenment Foundation under the leadership of Sheikh Shakir Jumah Orankan will always operate on the principles of fairness, all inclusiveness, openness in the distribution of food and other palliative packages as received by the organization, promised more of such relief to augment federal government drive to alleviate poverty and suffering in the country.
Some beneficiaries of the palliative distribution including Mr. AbdulGafar Abdurahman, Mr. Akeem Adekunle and Mrs Oluwabunmi Adewumi commended the sponsors and organisers of the programme, while praying Allah to grant their desires and replenish their resources to do more for humanity.
Items distributed as palliative are substantial quantity of Rice, Beans, 70 grams Noodles and Vegetable Oil.
