AN Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Tuesday sentenced one 50-year-old Isiaka Ayegbusi to two months imprisonment for stealing 15 goats.
Magistrate Adebukola Durowoju convicted and sentenced Ayegbusi following his guilty plea and based on the facts of the case.
Durowoju sentenced Ayegbusi to one-month imprisonment for conspiracy and one-month imprisonment for stealing 15 goats.
She held that the sentence would run concurrently.

Durowoju, however, gave the convict an option of six weeks’ community service of six hours daily at the court premises.
According to the Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Fatola, Ayegbusi and one other person still at large conspired to have unlawful possession of the 15 goats on Nov. 7, at 8:30 a.m. at Ajibode, Ibadan.
“The convict loaded the goats in a Mazda bus with registration number SMK 295 ET from Ijebu to Ibadan and stole them.
“The driver ran away when accosted by the community,” Fatola had submitted.
He said that the case was reported at the Ojoo Police Station, Ibadan, on Nov. 7 by the community, adding that the offences contravened 390 (9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
