According to history.com, in the 18th century, Richard Cadbury’s family made chocolates in Britain and gave out a box of candy on Valentine’s Day, as a tradition. His family had discovered a new way to make a variety of chocolates, and he used the opportunity to sell them as special gifts for Valentine’s Day.

2. About the Cupid
Another interesting fact about Valentine’s Day is the Cupid. It has been a part of it for a long period. The Cupid – a chubby baby with wings, a bow, and an arrow was known by the ancient Greeks as the god of love (Eros).
Being the son of Aphrodite – the Greek goddess of beauty and love, the chubby baby had two kinds of arrows, one that made people fall in love and the other that made them hate each other.
