As all is now set for the National Convention of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), a leading candidate for the presidential position, Comrade Rioborue Jude Deniran, has vowed to carry out far-reaching reforms and give the association a new face if elected as President of NANS.
The 23-year-old Deniran spoke on his determination to give NANS a fresh start on Wednesday while inspecting the Old Parade Ground in Abuja, the venue for the upcoming elective convention.
According to the convention’s program, delegates’ accreditation was scheduled to begin today (Wednesday).
He expressed confidence and firmly believed that he would emerge as the next NANS president.
Deniran noted that his entry into the contest was historic and unique, saying most of the previous contests had primarily involved non-academic students.
He debunked the rumours of his stepping down, saying, “These are false narratives created by naysayers and individuals who fear the election. They have resorted to cheap propaganda as their only option.
“As the curator of the Renewed NANS Movement, I urge all delegates to vote for me to become the President of NANS. I promise to give the association a strong voice and restore its lost glory,” he stated.
