A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano, Alhaji Faizu Alfindiki, stated that “microscopic minorities who are relying on tribal sentiment against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term bid are dead on arrival,” adding that the North can no longer be easily deceived.
He emphasized that the “2027 election will be a defining moment for Kano, the Arewa people, and for us here in Kano. We have chosen Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his unparalleled support to the region.”
Alfindiki remarked that those “clinging to tribalism to maintain power are outdated,” stating that the Arewa people of today are equipped to understand their core needs in political leadership.
According to him, “This old order of political malfeasance has enriched only a select few and their immediate families at the expense of the masses. It is time to look beyond ethnic divisions when choosing leaders.”
He assured that the party is prepared to secure Kano’s key votes for President Asiwaju Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 general elections. He made this announcement during a lunch with his team of Tinubu’s social media influencers in Kano on Wednesday, noting that their efforts over the past six months have highlighted the achievements of the sitting president to millions of voters in the region.
Alfindiki said, “Our meeting with you this morning is to rejuvenate your activities and address challenges where necessary. I am pleased to say that the last six months have been challenging yet bold, and have significantly positioned Tinubu’s reelection bid in a strong and positive light in Kano state, and the North in general.”
Alfindiki, the outspoken former Chairman of the Kano Municipal Council, had recruited top social media influencers to promote Tinubu’s presidency and showcase his achievements at a colorful ceremony last February.
He assured the president that the APC would deliver the 2027 general elections on a platter of gold, urging that the Asiwaju presidency should discard those ethnic champions masquerading as national leaders.
