Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Plateau State chapter, has endorsed Governor Caleb Mutfwang for re-election in 2027, saying the achievements of the governor in the past two years are feasible and commendable.
Members of the ALGON in the state recently embarked on peer review tour of local government areas in the state to interact directly with people at the grassroots and inspect developmental projects executed by members and those of the state government.
Speaking with newsmen at the end of the tour, the State ALGON Chairman, Hon. Hamisu Anani, said the tour was aimed at assessing the state of governance, reviewing the execution of local projects, and fostering unity across the councils.

According to him, the peer review was more than just a formal assessment; but a chance to gauge the execution of governance at the grassroots level adding that the tour allowed the ALGON executives to visit several ongoing and completed projects across the local councils, some of which are the Snakebite Treatment Hospital, Youth Centers, Staff Quarters, and new Local Government Secretariat buildings among others.
He said the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and depicted that the people at the grassroots appreciate the developmental strides of Governor Mutfwang.
The ALGON Chairman equally pointed out that no local government had to borrow money to fund its development projects under Mutfwang’s administration; rather, outstanding debts were cleared, and funds were utilized judiciously to execute projects that have a direct bearing on the life of the people.
“The people of Plateau are happy with the level of development taking place under this administration, and they are already calling on His Excellency to continue beyond 2027,
“The endorsement of Governor Mutfwang for a second term in office represents a united front within the state, and with continued focus on development and peace, the ALGON chapter aims to ensure that Plateau’s growth trajectory remains on course,” Anani said.
