The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation has said its 2027 presidential election engagements will be driven by issues and broad-based consultations with citizens and stakeholders across the country.
The organisation disclosed this at a news conference addressed in Abuja on Sunday by Mr Tony Ehilebo, Special Adviser (Media and Digital Communication) to the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Governor Seyi Makinde.
The development came as political parties widen preparations and engagements ahead of the polls, beginning with the Presidential and National Assembly elections on January 16, 2027.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has given political parties a window that closes on January 15 to campaign for the rest of the elections.
Ehilebo said the nationwide consultation and grassroots mobilisation had commenced, with zonal town hall meetings scheduled to provide opportunities for citizens to discuss issues affecting the country.
He stated the engagements would commence with the North-West zone in Katsina, the Katsina State capital, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, before moving to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for the South-South meeting on Friday, September 25.
According to him, the North-Central town hall meeting will hold in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Monday, September 28, while the South-East engagement will take place in Enugu, Enugu State, on Wednesday, September 30.

The organisation also said dates for engagements in the remaining zones would be communicated to Nigerians in due course.
Ehiebo went on, “The zonal town hall meetings will be issue-based and citizen-driven. They will centre on critical issues of national importance, especially those touching directly on the stability of the nation and the wellbeing of all its citizens.”
He explained that said Makinde’s “Reset Nigeria” agenda was aimed at building a country where leaders are accessible, accountable and service-driven, with national resources transparently applied for the benefit of citizens, adding, “Our message is to Reset Nigeria to a nation that truly works for all.”
Ehilebo said Nigerians across the country had continued to show support for Makinde and his running mate, Alhaji Lawal Daura, while mobilising in their communities ahead of the election.
He cited the APM’s victory in the Bauchi State House of Assembly bye-election at the weekend as one of the recent indications of the party’s growing support.
