Minister of Works and Former Governor Ebonyi State, Senator David Nweze Umahi has said that although the Southeast is qualified to have and exercise the executive powers of the office of the president God will decide Auchi fate in the future.

He maintained that the region will have the presidency for two terms of four years, as against the call for a single term of four years to the region.

He said the Presidency going to the southeast will not be determined by man but by God.

Umahi said no one should rob the region of a term of four years by promising a single term of four years when according to him the Renewed Hope Agenda is a political pregnancy that was consumed in 2023 and cannot be aborted by 2027 but stands to be renewed.

Umahi on Wednesday renewed his call to the people of South East to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 to complete his second term as President.

Umahi, who said this at a Press Conference on Wednesday, in Abuja, said it is tall and unrealizable dream for any party or anybody to insinuate defeating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

Umahi said all the regions and states in the federation have felt and are feeling the impact of infrastructural deployment sufficient to attract votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He maintained that he is the most qualified southeast person to run for the Presidency as his antecedents speaks volume to this.

Umahi had recently said that with the level of Democratic dividends to the southeast , President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stands to enjoy the goodwill of the people with their votes reaching 90 per cent.

However, defending his position and fielding questions from journalists on Wednesday on the South East vote for President Tinubu in 2027 against the agitation of South East President, he said, “The Bible says at the time of God, he makes all things beautiful.

“You don’t abort a pregnancy at the middle of the pregnancy. This is a Pregnancy of APC, which time has come and this return must be allowed to be completed.

“An Igbo man is not going to take the Presidency for 4 years, we (southeast) will take the Presidency for eight years like others.

“Anybody telling you that if he takes the Presidency for now he would do 4 years, it is an illusion that would not work. You know it is also good to have hope because without hope, life is useless.

“So, those who are hoping that they can take Presidency from President Tinubu are living in illusion which is keeping them alive. It is not a reality. It can’t work because there has been a lot of works.

“For instance, South East would not allow this vision of road construction in the South East to be terminated. At the time of God, he makes all things beautiful, just believe me that our time will come.

“That is my answer and the truth is that as an Igbo man, let us tell ourselves the basic truths, if we all vote for Dave Umahi because I am one of the most qualified in South East it would not make me President.

“I will give account of my stewardship as a party chairman, chairman of Local government, Deputy Governor, Governor, Senator and Minister. Some persons are talking about what I did in Ebonyi, that I created Dubia without food for the people.

“How else do you make the people to eat if not by spending on infrastructure and that was what I did. The idea of sharing money is good but that is not the best way to teach our people on how to catch a fish. So, nobody can fold his hands and would not go to work.

“Even my governor is doing it now. A lot of infrastructural activities are going on in Ebonyi state and that is how the people would participate and when I finished as a governor, a lot of people borrowed the people we trained on infrastructure on concrete roads.

“So, Arise should stop saying I created Dubia but the people are hungry. People were fed because there was no flight money, everything was done by the people of Ebonyi State.”
