Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai has launched an official TikTok account, following his recent defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
El-Rufai’s TikTok page gained over 200,000 followers within 24 hours, with the former governor inviting users to engage with him on Nigerian politics and SDP activities.
In his TikTok bio, El-Rufai describes himself as an “accidental public servant, certified ruffler of feathers, and deliberate SDP member”.
El-Rufai’s defection to the SDP came after he publicly criticized the APC, accusing the party of abandoning its founding principles and prioritising personal financial gain over governance.
“The APC has abandoned the principles that led to its establishment.
“It has abandoned the community. Everyone is doing their own thing. Everyone is looking for money. The government has become a business government,” he said.
