Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ilorin East/South federal constituency of Kwara State has declared the APC House of Representatives candidate for the area, Engineer Abdulquawiy Olododo, as most competent in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the media team of the candidate, led by Abdulwaheed Sulaiman, said that a series of human capital and empowerment programmes embarked upon by the politician, before his declaration had endeared him to people’s minds.

“Engineer Olododo had no ambition to represent his constituency when he was alleviating the poverty of his people. He did those programmes from his pure and genuine love and considerations for his constituents.”

Sulaiman also said that the APC candidate has been an employer of labour since he concluded his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme with the creation of his agricultural firm to encourage youths into farming.

“During the period, Olododo encouraged the youths to secure farmlands through his assistance as well as helped them to sell the produce afterwards. He was clean through the dealings, he never defrauded any beneficiary. Today, they all remember and want him to represent them,” he said.

“He is coming into the political space purposely and largely because of the youths. As young as Olododo is, he is guarded by the elders and leaders, both in politics and communities in his constituency,” he said.

He recalled that Olododo, as the former General Manager of Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), ensured that entrepreneurs got access to grants and loans to scale up their businesses.

“As commissioner for works, he ensured that interlocking road projects were distributed across the nooks and crannies of the Ilorin metropolis to make roads accessible.

“The same was extended to the houses of traditional title holders in the state capital,” he said, urging Kwarans to give Olododo their mandates in 2027.
