Commissioners of Youth from All Progressives Congress (APC)-governed states have reaffirmed their loyalty to the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and pledged to champion youth-led transformation as a foundation for building a progressive Nigeria.
The commitment was made in a communique issued at the end of the PGF Quarterly Meeting of Honourable Commissioners of Youth, held August 7–8, 2025, hosted by the Kaduna State Government.
Speaking through their communiqué, the commissioners pledged to align with the vision of the PGF under the leadership of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, and expressed “unwavering loyalty” to the Progressive Governors.
“We pledge to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and performance-driven governance.”
“We also express a strong commitment to championing youth-led transformation as a cornerstone for building a progressive Nigeria,” the communique read.
The Forum commended President Bola Ahmed for what they described as his “visionary leadership in harnessing the energy, creativity, and aspirations of young Nigerians as drivers of national renewal and inclusive development.”
The commissioners also unanimously endorsed the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which they said “places youth at the center of Nigeria’s socio-economic transformation.”
They applauded APC governors for sustained investments in youth development, citing initiatives in skills training, digital infrastructure, entrepreneurship, the creative economy, and sports as “key drivers for a prosperous and secure Nigeria.”
The communique also recognized the role of the President and governors in addressing drug abuse, youth restiveness, and unemployment.
“We applaud the contributions of these interventions to national stability and the promotion of social inclusion,” the commissioners added.
The meeting resolved to adopt a PGF Unified Inter-State Youth Development Framework to boost cross-state collaboration, ensure policy alignment, and scale innovative solutions for youth empowerment.
The commissioners also resolved to integrate digital skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship into state-level youth policies to produce “a youth generation that is future-ready, productive, and inclusive.”
They expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for hosting the meeting and to the PGF Secretariat for “strategic coordination and steadfast commitment to advancing youth-focused initiatives.”
The meeting pledged to deepen partnerships, strengthen youth policies, and drive collaborative action across APC-governed states in pursuit of national progress.
