Five-time Grammy Award winner, Angelique Kidjo, has officially submitted her track ‘Joy’ featuring Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Davido, for consideration in two categories at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
The Beninese singer made this announcement on Saturday via a post on her verified Facebook account.
The song was submitted for Best African Music Performance and Record of the Year, while another of her works, ‘Sunlight to My Soul’, featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir and written by Diane Warren, was submitted for Best Global Music Performance and Song of the Year categories.
In her post, Kidjo expressed gratitude to the various artists and collaborators who contributed to the success of both songs submitted for consideration.
‘Joy’ featuring Davido was released on Friday, 30 August 2024, as the second collaboration between the two artists, who had previously worked together on another hit song, ‘Na Money’, released in 2023.
