XPRESSRIDE, a leading ride-hailing firm, has called on the Federal Government to focus serious attention on the transportation sector, emphasizing its untapped potential to drive economic growth.
The firm further noted that 2025 presents a ripe opportunity to strengthen and digitize the transportation system, enhancing safety and efficiency for Nigerians commuting daily for work and other engagements.
XpressRide Managing Director, Ismaila Yusuf Atus, made this appeal in his New Year message, urging the government to also prioritize job creation as a critical means of engaging unemployed citizens in meaningful economic activities. According to him, this will significantly boost the nation’s economy and gross domestic product (GDP).
The statement reads: “On behalf of the management and staff of XpressRide, I welcome you to a new year filled with hope and new opportunities! As we step into 2025, let’s take a moment to reflect on the challenges we faced last year, particularly in our transportation sector.

“This year, we urge the Federal Government to focus on making transportation better for everyone. It’s important that every Nigerian feels secure and confident when getting into a car, no matter the circumstances.
“Let’s also prioritise creating jobs for our teeming youths and encouraging the use of vehicles that are fuel-efficient and suited for our roads. By supporting our own people and resources, we can create a more reliable and affordable ride-hailing system. This would not only help reduce costs but also empower our nation and strengthen our economy.
