A former chairman of Lagos State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Adewale aka Aeroland, has called on the party’s national headquarters in Abuja to wade into the leadership crisis rocking the state chapter urgently and address it, saying this should be done as Lagos is very strategic for them ahead of the 2023 elections.
The Lagos High Court presided over by Justice Oyekan Abdulahi, last week sacked Adedeji Doherty as chairman of the party and restored Dr. Adegbola Dominic into office.
Adewale made the call in a statement made available to newsmen, even as he commended Doherty, who was ousted from office by the court judgment for displaying maturity in the face of the ongoing crisis in the fold.
This was just as the PDP chieftain, who is also the South-West ex-officio of the party, disclosed that leaders in the zone were watching the development with keen interest, noting that Lagos was very strategic for them ahead of the 2023 elections as they won’t allow any anomalies to stand, but ensure that the right things were done, “not only in Lagos but in all the South-West chapters of the party.
“I will only appeal to the national leadership, who appointed Dominic for a period of 90 days, which had long expired, and subsequently conducted an election by National Committee led by Senator Ben Obi, Senator Biodun Olujimi and other national leaders, in line with the provisions of our party’s constitution, to wade into the matter urgently.
“The regional leaders are watching the development with kin interest because, Lagos is very strategic for them ahead of the 2023 election, that they won’t allow any anomalies to stand, this they would do as part of their effort is to ensure the right things are done, not only in Lagos but in all the South West chapters of the party,” Adewale said.
