He said his emergence as CNNC Chairman, FCT Chapter would ensure that the Northern Christians in the FCT benefit spirituality, politically and economically.
According to him: “I want to appreciate God and the Federal Capital Territory, the Christian communities under the Congress of Northern Nigeria Christians for giving me yet another opportunity to serve the body of Christ here in the Federal Capital Territory as the Chairman.
“I want to appreciate God for this opportunity to bring the Northern Nigeria Christians in Abuja together, and in order to attend to the yearnings of the Northern Nigeria Christians here in Abuja, and to be able to speak out for the Northern Nigeria Christian ps here in Abuja.
“We are going to use this very platform to engage our people, to bring them together to address the common challenges facing us as a people, politically we are going to engage them, spiritually, we are going to engage them in praying for this nation, and also economically, we want also use this opportunity to galvanise support across Board to ensure that the Northern Nigeria Christians in Abuja, get their own share of the resources in this country.”
His words: “the issue of politics in Nigeria is not about religion, primarily, it is about the interest of the country, we are looking for leaders who are nationalistic in nature, we are looking for leaders who are God-fearing, we are looking for leaders who are transparent, leaders that are very just in their administration, people who can carry along everybody.
“However people usually express their desire and aspiration especially when it comes to elections, and we cannot just overlook the people coming from the South, we cannot over look the people coming from the North, but we are going to look at it in practical terms, what are these people coming to offer to Nigerians, what record are they having already? Because most of them are people that are known by Nigerians, they have one way or the other performed in one leadership position or the other, so we are looking for an opportunity where we can bring these people together under CNNC National headquarters, we are very confident that our leaders will soon bring these people together, we will soon hear them, we will soon assess them, and probably come up with a position on who to support.
“I want to also mention that we have seen leaders emerge in this country over a period of time with different agenda, with different way of like, I want to say that Nigerians must not continue to suffer in their own father’s land, we need people who would come on Board to bring the whole of this country together.”
