2019 Poll: Coalition storms Oyo to canvass support for Buhari

AS political parties and stakeholders are putting finishing touches on the final lap of their campaign towards Saturday presidential and National Assembly sections, a coalition of grassroots mobilisers ‘Buhari Lekan Si’ on Wednesday, stormed some towns in Oyo State to canvass support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s reelection.

The group which had earlier routed Ibarapaland on Wednesday stormed Jobele, Awe, Akinmorin, Fiditi, Ilora and Oyo town all in Oyo zone of the state to mobilise for Buhari’s reelection.

‘Buhari Lekan Si’ is a group initiated and funded by the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, towards canvassing professionals and artisans for Buhari’s reelection.

The group which had earlier visited several towns in the state were in the zone to make their last push towards ensuring Buhari was reelected on Saturday.

The Coordinator of the group, Mr Taiwo Fawole said the group was in Oyo to canvass professionals and artisans to support Buhari’s reelection.

Fawole, who led the group around the towns, highlighted Buhari’s achievements since assumption of office, adding he has done very well to earn a second term.

He said that the solid foundation already laid by the Buhari-led administration needed to be consolidated to move Nigerians to the next level of development.

“We are here to persuade them to participate in the electoral process and persuade them on the need to reelect the president and all other APC candidates in the country.

“This will enable the president to complete the restoration agenda which he kick-started in 2015 across all sectors of the country including the health sector,” he said.

Fawole said that the exercise was also ongoing in Osun state, adding that several towns in the south-west had been visited for the same purpose since the inauguration of the group.

Mr Atanda Akinolu from Atiba local government in Oyo, expressed satisfaction with the efforts of the president, saying the people would definitely vote for the president on Saturday.

“As you can see that the people are happy and rejoicing with us. This is a very good assurance that the president will be reelected on Saturday,” he said.

Mrs Adejoke Owoade, a member of the group, said that the people are ready to vote massively for Buhari based on his integrity and achievements so far.

She said that Buhari has done very well since the assumption of office and would be reelected on Saturday.
