PVCs
A group, Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard (IIEV) has emphasised the need for Lagos residents to register as voters with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and ensure they obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the forthcoming 2019 General Elections.
The state coordinator of the group, Mr. Seyi Bamigbade, gave this counsel while speaking to newsmen, saying IIEV had since organised a training session for residents Badagry and Ikeja divisions of the state on the importance of the ongoing registration exercise by INEC.
This was just as he reiterated that the group was poised on canvassing for five million votes for the state governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, for his re-election in 2019 gubernatorial poll.
Bamigbade, while commending Governor Ambode’s total dedication to duty, said his numerous developmental projects and his desire to make the state a better place to live endeared him to the people.
According to him, Ambode’s “unimaginable performance and commendable zeal for developmental projects have been visible in every nook and cranny of the state, especially in Badagry division.”

“In this division, you have all benefitted in the programmes and policies of Governor Ambode led-administration. This is why we must all support his re-election so that he can continue to make our division and Lagos an enviable state,” he said.
Speaking on the registration drive, Mr Bamigbade urged residents to be part of the Continuous Voter Registration being conducted by INEC, saying one needed to register as a voter to be eligible to vote.
“We must take it seriously to make sure our names are in the voters’ register. Go to the polling centres to collect your PVCs.
“I am calling on residents in Badagry division to enrol en masse and be in a position to vote in credible candidates such as Governor Ambode with the tagged five million votes. It is our collective civic responsibility,” he said.
Also speaking, Deputy Chairman, Lagos State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), Elder Sunny Ajose, noted that Governor Ambode’s performance had made the state a reference point in Nigeria, in terms of commerce and industry, health care delivery, roads across the of the state, quality education and prompt payment of worker’s salaries and arrears.
