2019: Lagos PDP congratulates Atiku

Published by

LAGOS State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday congratulated former Vice President Abubakar Atiku for emerging the party’s presidential candidate at its national convention held in Port-Harcourt, the River State capital, just as it commended party leaders for managing the party out of its trying times and also ensuring that all members were now selflessly committed to winning elections.

The party said this in a congratulatory message signed by its publicity secretary, Mr Taofik Gani, copy of which was made available to journalists in Lagos.

This was just as the party re-emphasised its resolve to win all elections in Lagos State forthwith.

“Indeed the winner of this convention is the party which ensured that the elections went free, fair and credible that all aspirants accepted the result and willing to support the winner in the general elections,” the party said.

According to the party, with the step taken, “this has shut out any post-convention acrimony or defection thus disappointing the detractors who waited to see our party fight out from the convention.”

The statement argued that the just-concluded convention had confirmed that democracy in Nigeria can be entrusted in the PDP than the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), calling on Nigerians to give PDP another opportunity to manage the country.
