The Independent National Electoral Commission has agreed to throw open the processes that would take place at the Situation Room during the 2019 elections to enhance the integrity of the election, a source close to the Commission has said.
Opening up of the Situation Room has been a key demand of opposition parties and election monitors, especially from Western countries in the build-up to the 2019 elections.
But the source who spoke on condition of anonymity, since he was not permitted to speak officially on the matter said that the Commission was out to show it has nothing to hide.
“I can tell you that the Commission has decided to throw open the operations of the Situation Room during the 2019 elections. The management team has decided that will show the international and local observers, the media and the political parties that there is nothing special that happens there.
