PRESIDENTIAL aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who is also the serving governor of Gombe State, Dr Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has stated that he has what it takes to tackle the insecurity in Nigeria and return the country to the path of economic growth and development if given the mandate to rule the country.
Governor Dankwambo who stated this while addressing Plateau State delegates at the State Secretariat of the party in Jos, said the insecurity in some parts of the country needs to be addressed to bring development to the country adding the APC led administrations both at the national and state levels have failed Nigerians in this regard.
“In spite of the insecurity in the North East, we were able to tame the ugly trend in Gombe state through systematic approach that did not give room for such unfortunate incident to fester. Gombe State is surrounded by states that are under the constant threat of these elements, Yobe state is just about 30 minutes drive to some of these states in the North East but we have been able to secure lives and property. In spite of the proximity to these states, we don’t have cases of kidnapping, herdsmen and others.
“If your car is snatched in Gombe state, I can assure you that it will be recovered within the next 24 hours. We also respect people irrespective of their religion and cultural background,” he said.

The Presidential aspirant who said Peoples Democratic Party had trained quite a lot of people for leadership positions added that the party has a lot of manpower to provide qualitative leadership for the country at all levels in 2019 adding that it has competent people right from the councillorship to the presidential level.
Said he:” All the presidential aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party are eminently qualified to run this country. Each of them is better than what we have today as the president of Nigeria. They have passed through the mills and have the backgrounds that would make them governed the country well.
“But I want Nigerians to enjoy the privilege of life that I enjoyed right from the elementary school to the University. In my career, I had the opportunity of working in the best organizations up to the time I became the Accountant General of the Federation. I passed through all these without any stress, these are the kind of things I want for the young ones.”
Responding, the State party chairman, Mr Damshi Sango implored Nigerians to vote out President Mohammadu Buhari in the next presidential election adding that the country is being run as if the nation is still in Stone Age adding that the President doesn’t care about the complexity of Nigeria.
He, therefore, tasked all the presidential aspirants on the platform of PDP to come together and pick acceptable candidate that would be acceptable to all adding that such candidate must have the capability to push President Buhari out of office.
