THE former vice president and a presidential hopeful in the forthcoming general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, remains the best for the highest office in the country come 2019.
A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Sunny Onuesoke, made the assertion on Tuesday in Warri, Delta State.
He said that the passion and love Atiku has for the development of the Nigerian state could be seen in the number of persons who were currently been engaged by his various companies.
“The love I have for Alhaji Abubakar is his strong capitalist nature, being the strongest in Nigeria, as he has more than 50, 000 Nigerians on his payroll coupled with the multiple effects on labour situation in the country,” he observed.
According to the PDP chieftain, Atiku’s drive for the social development of the country came long before the conceiving of the present democratic structure in the country, and this he had continued even after his tenure as the vice president of Nigeria.
Chief Onuesoke, in stressing the dream of Atiku to see to the social and economic development of the country, challenged other politicians, especially those who had held offices since 1999, to come out and invest in the social needs of the people, which is the only way to improve the living standard of the average Nigerian.
“I call on politicians since 1999 to do likewise. They should emulate Atiku by investing in things that will propel the country into economic freedom,” he pleaded.
He argued that among the many that are canvassing for the office of the president in 2019, the Turaki of Adamawa is the only person that has a clear view of what to do to take the country to political and economic development.
“Atiku can only be compared to Donald Trump, the American President, as he has a clear view of what it takes to run a country that will propel us to a better political and economic freedom.
“I don’t support Atiku merely because he was a former vice president, I support him because he is a diehard capitalist investor.
“He is somebody I communicate with, somebody I know one-on-one. He talks business. He talks employment.
“About social institutions, which is his main focus and dream. That was why I fell in love with his leadership style and I know he can deliver to the country.
“In fact, he is the best as we approach 2019,” he stressed.
