A member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Adekoya Adesegun Abdelmajid on Tuesday debunked the claims by some ministers that their budget estimates in the 2017 appropriation bill were tampered with by the National Assembly before passage, saying those making such false claim were ignorant of the 1999 Constitution as amended
The lawmaker representing Ijebu North- East-Ogun Waterside Federal constituency of Ogun State who is also the Vice Chairman of the House Committee of Lands Transport while speaking with News men in Abuja urged the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo to caution the affected Ministers in the National interest,
Stating that the appropriation of funds in the 1999 constitution as amended was the exclusive responsibility of the Legislature while the executive would only estimate and as well execute, the lawmaker declared that the Legislature would not be a rubber stamp to the Executive under whatever guise.
According to him,” both Babatunde Fashola of the Ministry of Works, Housing, power and his counterpart in the Transport Ministry, Rotimi Amaechi, have been making series of allegations bothering on tampering with the budget, this is not true all, let any one of them with contradicting facts to come with such
