Tanzanian singer, Juma Mussa Mkambala, popularly known as Juma Jux, has emerged as the Best East African Artist at the 17th Headies Awards.
The ‘Ololufe Mi’ crooner beat other nominees, including Bien (Kenya), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Bruce Melodie (Rwanda), and Azawi (Uganda), to clinch the coveted award at the ceremony held on Sunday at the Landmark Event Centre, Lekki.
The 17th edition of the Headies, tagged ‘Back to Base’, marked a vibrant return to Nigeria after being hosted abroad for two years.
The ceremony was anchored by actress and media personality Nancy Isime alongside veteran broadcaster IK Osakioduwa.

Juma Jux also thrilled the audience with a captivating live performance during the event. The night featured electrifying performances from other artists, including Qing Madi, L.A.X, Odumodublvck, Kcee, Shallipopi, Flavour, Nasboi, and Magnito.
Tribune Online reports that Juma Jux tied the knot with Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo in a white wedding ceremony held in Lagos on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
