Fifteen prominent Nigerians have been awarded honorary doctorate degrees from an American University, Prowess University, Delaware, USA.
The event occurred on Saturday at the University of Ibadan Conference Center, University of Ibadan, Ibadan.
The 15 prominent Nigerians were selected from different walks of life for their contributions to humanity.
Speaking at the event, the African Representative for Prowess University, Professor Eze Nwauba, stated that the award recipients were selected for their contributions in their various fields.
In his brief remarks, Nwauba, who was represented by a senior lecturer in the Management Sciences Department at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Dr Olusegun Oyedele, noted that the university is fully accredited for the provision of quality education for admission seekers.
The awardees include the founder of Apex Schools, Ile Ife, Dennis Imafidon, who bagged a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management. United Kingdom-based Pastor Pastor Folashade Olayiwole received a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Care Management. Others include oil and gas expert Dr. Catherine Sanni-Osharode, who received a Doctor of Philosophy in Oil and Gas Management; finance expert Dr Bashorun Olanrewaju, who received a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration; Dr Titilope Kuku-Oke, who received a Doctor of Philosophy in Law; Chief Ernest Ugo Eso, Doctor of Philosophy in Financial Management; Dr Sherifat Akintunde, Doctor of Philosophy in Humanitarian Services; Dr Kenechukwu Nwangwu, Doctor of Philosophy in Entrepreneurship and Business Management; insurance expert, Dr Obu Rita, who received a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration and Management; Dr Yusuf Shosan, who received a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration; Dr Adekunle Akintola, who received a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration; Dr Daniels Abubakar, who received a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration; and Dr. Afolabi White, who received a Doctor of Philosophy in Strategic Management.
During the event, some of the awardees also received the Fellowship Award of the Ecelorite Institute for Peace Advancement (EIPA).
Also speaking, Southwest Coordinators for the university, Dr. Kazeem Akande and Dr. Omotayo Adegunju, in their separate speeches, congratulated the awardees and urged them to continue contributing to education and humanities.”
