Bayelsa set to unfold plans to eradicate maternal/infant mortality ―Dickson

WORRIED over the rising rate of maternal/infant mortality, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has given the assurance that government would soon unfold plans to eradicate maternal and infant mortality in the state.

This, the Governor said in a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Francis Ottah Agbo in Yenagoa.

Dickson, at the February monthly praise night, explained that the health team is working round the clock to unfold the measures in the course of the week.

He disclosed that the health team will ensure that all pregnant women in the state are identified and captured right where they live, adding that, incentives will be provided for all registered pregnant women in the State.

The Governor also urged all traditional birth attendants in the State to register with the health team, so that they can be trained to ensure the safety of women during pregnancy and childbirth.

He noted that, the first lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Rachael Dickson will soon be organizing a conference, where women leaders and women generally from the various Local Government Areas will be assembled to be educated on ways and methods on how to curb infant and maternal mortality.

In his sermon, Rev. Precious I. Precious spoke on the importance of a person’s vision, noting that, anyone without a vision is like a dead man.

According to the man of God, as humans, we must have visions of what we want to be and whom we desire to be in life.
