The spokesman of COSA, Mr Salis Sabo in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Minna, added that the discovery was made after going around the town to assess the extent of the damages.

The statement added that the wind storm has indeed exposed many roofs of several households to the public, stressing that “Most of the victims are people living from hand to mouth.”

Sabo stated further that the assessment of other adjoining towns such as Gwada, Zumba, Erena and other villages in Shiroro Local Government Area of the state was still ongoing.

He, therefore, called on the State Government through the Niger State Emergency Management  Agency (NSEMA), as well as the office of the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and other relevant agencies to as matter of urgency come to the rescue of the affected victims.

“I, therefore, pray that may Allah protect us from recurrence of this unfortunate natural incident,” he concluded.
