Ten children have sustained injuries as a result of an explosion which occurred in Kidanden village of Giwa local government area of Kaduna.

Findings revealed that incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when the children were playing with an object in a nearby bush.

“They were said to be playing with an object when suddenly it exploded and injured the children,” a source had said.

Sunday Tribune investigation gathered that the victims are currently being attended to at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika.

Confirming the incident, the Village Head, Abubakar Umar said he was trying to compile the names of the injured victims because the police had visited the community.

“10 people were injured and no death but they were taken to the hospital for treatment. Right now I’m compiling their names,” he said.

Also speaking the councilor of the area, Abdullahi Ismail, remarked that victims have sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital.

“I was told the children picked the object in the bush when they went looking for firewood. It explodes and injured them badly.”

As at the time of filling the report, the police and the state government are yet to issue statement on the incident.
