A fatal road accident that occurred in Otte village, along Ilorin-Ogbomoso road on Wednesday has reportedly claimed 13 lives.
The Tribune Online gathered that the accident involved one Hummer passenger bus coming from Kaduna, which was said to have rammed into a stationary trailer truck with mechanical fault.
Eyewitness account said the driver of the Hummer bus was allegedly over speeding before it rammed into the stationary truck and killed all the passengers in the bus.
It was later gathered that irate members of the community went on rampage in the night, protesting against the death of the passengers.
The protesters had mobilised to set the truck ablaze but for the prompt intervention of some men of the state police command.
The state police Commissioner Olusola Amore, who confirmed the incident, said that “bus load with passengers coming from Kaduna ran into a stationary vehicle and all the passengers died.
“In fact, for now the trailer has been impounded and we are working with the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) to be able to toe the trailer. The trailer is even loaded with goods.
“So that we can get the driver and the owner of the trailer to come and answer for the way the trailer was parked before it caused the accident.”
