The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday hailed the electoral victory of the Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson at the Supreme Court.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the party declared “this judgment once again, has confirmed the mandate freely given to the PDP and its candidate in Bayelsa State, and also show that the Bayelsa State is totally for the PDP.”

According to the party, “We also appreciate the judiciary for serving justice in the face of intimidation and harassment by the executive and its instruments of coercion against the rule of law.”

The Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the election of Governor Dickson on the appeal brought before it by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate in the December 5, 2015 election, Chief Timipre Sylva.

The party commended the people of Bayelsa State for standing firm with it and the governor during this period and urged the governor to continue with his people-oriented programmes in the state.
