Veteran gospel singer, Evangelist Deborah Fasoyin, thrilled guests and those in the gospel music industry with her evergreen song entitled: “Odun n lo sopin” (The Year is Ending) at the “Inauguration and Award Ceremony” of the new national executives of the Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria (GOMAN) held at Jogor Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State, last Friday.
The event, which also honoured former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi; the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji; Oyo and Osun State governors, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and Mr Rauf Aregbesola with an award of excellence for their service to humanity, contributions to the growth of culture and the nation at large.
The association also awarded the Ondo State governor-elect, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), Seyi Makinde and a host veterans gospel musicians and elders of the association including Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye (KSA), Pastor Joseph Adelakun, popularly known as Ayewa, Evangelist Bola Are, Evangelist Deborah Fasoyin, among others.
According to the new president, Evangelist Funmi Aragbaye, who officially took over from the immediate past administration led by popular gospel musician, Timi Orokoya, that it was time the association experience total change and be elevated among and even beyond its peers.
