In 1983 when Muhammadu Buhari became Nigeria’s Head of State, his vision was to return Nigeria to its former glory. He saw the need to restructure the system based on socio-economic and cultural values that had been lost, and which led to a lot of corrupt practices in the system. This gave room to the formation of the War Against Indiscipline (WAI) brigade. I believe that if Buhari had not been overthrown, his government then would have laid the foundation for a better Nigeria. His government is saying that “we can do it” and it is true that we will because the era of importing toothpick has gone. Let us give him the opportunity to lay the foundation for a better Nigeria.
