BURSARS Association of Polytechnics, Monotechnic and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria (BURSCON), has appointed the bursar of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr. Abel Ujiyah Adamu, as the president of the association.
Adamu, who was appointed president during the association’s conference that took place in Lafia, Nasarawa State, was until his appointment the vice president of the association.
The constitution of BURSCON provides election for the post of vice president, who automatically becomes president at the expiration of the tenure of the president.
Speaking after his appointment, Adamu said he was ready to build on the achievements of the last administration and take the association to a greater height.
He tasked members as chief financial officers of their various institutions to key into President Muhammadu Buhari’s war against corruption to enable them maintain the good reputation the accounting profession is known for.
He also solicited the support of heads of institutions in the resolve of the association to engender professionalism and develop the various institutions.
Adamu also thanked members of the association for the confidence reposed in him.
