OYO State Police Command is presently on the trail of the driver of a low-bed truck carrying a container which caused an accident involving a Micra car and tricycle at New Garage area of Oluyole Local Government Area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Saturday night.
The incident, according to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, SP Adekunle Ajisebutu, revealed that two people— a male and a female died in the accident, while four others were injured.
An eyewitness informed that the driver of the articulated vehicle “was shouting ‘brake failure’ before he rammed the truck into the shop.
Ajisebutu disclosed that the “vehicle involved has been recovered. The conductor of the vehicle is in police custody, while efforts are being intensified to apprehend the fleeing driver. Investigation is currently ongoing.”
He further stated that “two people, a male and a female, died in the accident while four people were injured, adding that corpses have been deposited at the Adeoyo Hospital morgue, while the injured victims have been taken to the Ibadan Central Hospital for medical attention.”
