New musical act, Joy Bucknor, has stated why she wept in her debut video entitled “Mercy”.
Bucknor said that the song was to gear people towards a personal sober reflection, knowing that life is nothing without God, adding that she wants to use her song to provide hope.
Having studied Computer Engineering at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, the musical act, on the stables of Midland Atlantic Records, said her passion for the industry was too much.
“I started singing at age 10, but decided to do music professionally in 2014. It’s because I love all kinds of music and I can do all kinds of music and I would describe my kind of music as inspirational afro pop/contemporary,” she said On what inspired her song, she said: “Well, looking at the state of the world, you will see a progressive degeneration in the quality of life of mankind, which is a result of sin and the only person that can save us is God. Mercy should be a cry on everyone’s lips so we don’t end up like Sodom and Gomorrah, hence the title Mercy.”
