IT was widely reported that the officers of the Department of State Security (DSS), last week, swooped on some Bureau de Change (BDC) operators in Lagos for hoarding and artificially inflating the dollar against the naira. While some section of the society have condemned this action, I want to commend the DSS for this intervention. It seems the BDC operators are intentionally manipulating the naira, thus the reason for its free fall against other world currencies.
I believe any action is legitimate so far it will bring about sanity into the forex system.
I want to appeal to the national leadership of the BDC to warn its members on the need to act with the fear of God.
