The chairman of Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliyu Dangote, has no interest in establishing a private university in the country.
However, he would not relent in his efforts at giving necessary support to promote the standard of education across the country.
The executive director, stakeholders’ management and corporate communications, Dangote Group of Companies, Mr Mansur Ahmed, said this during a press conferece, at Royal Tropicana Hotel, Kano, on Wednesday.
He said that though, Alhaji Dangote believed that education is the best legacy that parents could give to their children, adding that there are many well-meaning Nigerians that have been assisting through the establishment of private institutions in the country.
He said that some companies have been establishing laudable projects in various higher institutions across the country, most especially, at Bayero University, Kano and Kano State University of Science and Technology.
He added that Dangote has been assisting tertiary institutions not only in Kano State but as well as other parts of the country . He said that he equally executed Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) both within the country and outside it.
