The Court of Appeal in Abuja has nullified the candidature of Jimoh Ibrahim as candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, while it ruled in favour of Eyitayo Jegede, confirming him as the authentic candidate of PDP in Saturday governorship election.
Delivering judgment in all the appeals that emanated from the judgment of the Federal High Court on the governorship tussle in Ondo State, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa said the earlier ruling by Justice Abang in favour of Jimoh Ibrahim was ‘violent attitudinal disposition to rule of law.’
Consequently, he ordered the reinstatement of Jegede as the true candidate of PDP in Ondo for Saturday’s governorship election, saying he can only set aside Justice Abang’s judgement and can order no more..
Justice Saulawa, delivering his verdict, said that Jegede’s appeal was ‘most meritorious and accordingly allowed,’ adding that all seven issues are in favour of Jegede.
