The Nigerian Aviation sector has again received an international recognition when the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Global Aviation Training (GAT) acknowledged the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria as the best training institution with the highest trained instructors and highest number of ICAO courses effectively offered.
NCAT received the Award prize at the GAT and TRAINAIR PLUS symposium gala night held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia yesterday.
According to the management of the school: “This Certification came after an exhaustive statistical inspection of NCAT Training facilities, instructional staff, course content and programmes by a team of GAT experts.
By this recognition also, the ICAO Global Aviation Training (GAT) further gives NCAT more allocations and Approval to conduct additional courses such as, Government Safety Inspector Airworthiness Course- Air Operator and Approved Maintenance Organisation Certification (GSI- AIR 18701). Government Safety Inspector Operations Course- Air Operators Certification Course (GSI-Ops 18700).
And Government Safety Inspector Personnel Licensing Course (GSI-PEL 18710)
“The ICAO GAT further appreciates the enormity of NCAT Attainment of full implementation of competency based training in compliance with ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS ISD methodology. NCAT is also seen to have achieved full implementation of quality system in training upgrade of its equipment to support training. The near completion of training of Internal Validators by NCAT also attracts international commendations. These, the global body accepts as no mean feats for any of its member Aviation Training Organisation (ATO).”
While reacting to the development, the Rector/Chief Executive of NCAT Captain Abdulsalami Mohammed thanked the global aviation body for the honour and inspiring recognition of NCAT success even as he assured that by the award that NCAT would relentlessly work towards the soonest full attainment of an ICAO Regional Training Centre of Excellence.
