NASARAWA State governor, Umaru Tanko Al-makura, has donated the sum of N5 million to Nigerian legion and offered employment to 100 personnel of the legion.
The governor made the gesture on Tuesday, at the Government House, Lafia, while launching the Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem.
Governor Al-makura also donated 18 seaters bus, 100 bags of rice and 10 slots of employment for children and widows of their fallen heroes.
The governor who extolled the role of the Nigerian legion in keeping the nation as one united entity during the civil war urged Nigerians to continue to shower love on them.
Al-makura who also hailed Nigerian military for capturing Sambisa forest, urged Nigerians to continue to be vigilante as some residual terrorist would be looking for refuge in other states.
He added that security is everybody’s business and any action capable of threatening the peace of the nation should not be compromised.
Responding, the state Chairman Nigerian Legion, Col David Masaka, thanked the governor for the gesture and assured of the continued support of the legion in ensuring security in the state and the country at large.
