Bauchi State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to ensuring peaceful and orderly celebrations of Christmas and New Year across the state.

The assurance was given by the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, who extended warm Christmas and New Year felicitations to all residents of the State, reassuring the public of adequate security measures to ensure peaceful, safe, and hitch-free celebrations throughout the festive period.

He encouraged citizens to use the season of goodwill to pray for peace, unity, and progress in the nation, while also supporting ongoing efforts to overcome the multi-faceted security challenges facing the country.

Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Commanders are also charged to intensify patrols, dominate public spaces, and remain proactive and vigilant before, during, and after the Christmas and New Year procession.

The Commissioner further enjoined members of the public to remain security-conscious and promptly report any suspicious activities within their neighborhoods to the nearest police station, as communities remain the best focal point for effective policing.

He stressed “if you see something, say something,” as contained in a statement by SP Nafiu Habib, Police Public Relations Officer.
