On Thursday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), conferred honorary Abuja citizenship on the President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, during his official visit to Nigeria. This was reported by Naija News.
President Faye was welcomed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, by Minister Wike, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a ceremony symbolising the strong friendship and cordial relationship between Nigeria and Senegal, Wike presented President Faye with the symbolic key to the city.
Wike explained that this key grants Faye all the rights and privileges of an Abuja citizen, honouring the 44-year-old President’s visit and further cementing the ties between the two nations.
