Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala has explained the reasons behind the president’s recent state visit to the United Kingdom.

Recall that President Tinubu had embarked on a two-day visit to the UK, where he was received by King Charles III in what observers described as a significant diplomatic engagement.

Responding to the concerns and criticisms by opposition figures in a Facebook post on Friday, Bwala said the visit was aimed at advancing Nigeria’s development through strategic international engagement.

“Some people are saying, ‘Why go to the UK?’ Look, I hope you all know that you don’t grow and develop Nigeria by sitting at home and waiting,” he wrote.

He noted that the visit was designed to attract investment, create jobs, and unlock opportunities for Nigerians.

“This visit is about opening doors: more investment, more jobs, and more opportunities for our people. His Majesty, King Charles has shown practicable commitment to partner with Nigeria on areas of mutual trust,” Bwala stated.

According to him, the president is also focused on strengthening Nigeria’s global presence and influence.

“President Tinubu is making sure Nigeria is seen, heard, and respected on the world stage. That’s how you move a country forward, not by staying quiet,” he added.
