Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has said Northern Nigerian Women’s Ulama endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term because of his achievements and inclusive style of governance.
Sani stated this at a stakeholders’ engagement, with delegates from the 19 northern states, at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Conference Centre.
He said the delegates represented millions of members in the region and had made their support for Tinubu clear through their leaders.
“They are not endorsing President Tinubu based on sentiments or some selfish reasons. It is simply because of what he has done for Nigeria and for Northerners in particular,” he said.
According to Sani, the Ulama based their endorsement on what he described as the president’s ‘giant strides’ in education, infrastructure, healthcare and agriculture.
The engagement was organised by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari.
Those who attended included Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State; Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State; Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State; Minister of Defence, Alhaji Bello Matawalle; Minister of Housing, Muttaqa Rabe Darma; and other senior government officials.
Sani explained that governors attended the event to support the women Ulama, who, he noted, were focusing on issues affecting the region.
He said the women leaders had observed that Tinubu had treated different parts of the country fairly and had taken development to various parts of Nigeria.
The governor added that the administration had, within three and a half years, invested not only in conventional education but also in skills-based education.
